A lesson for every year

Age 1  - A big smile and a hair bow go a long way in disguising a bald head (cont: age 18)

Age 2  - Speak up for yourself if you want a cookie (cont: age 24)

Age 3  - Play nice - people notice when you don’t and you might get kicked out of nursery school

Age 4  - Make the best of a new situation, even if it’s a downgraded playground

Age 5  - Cute boys will break your heart, but the experience will create lifelong friendships with your support team of girls (cont: age 23)

Age 6  - Some rules are meant to be broken, especially when they’re set by strict nannies

Age 7  - Follow an instinct to try something new, it might lead to a life long passion that involves dirt, manure, and leather

Age 8  - Cute boys like girls that play computer games

Age 9  - It’s okay to out grow a best friend, just don’t be a bitch about it (cont: age 17)

Age 10 - Never say never, especially when you know you’re lying

Age 11 - You won’t know how great you can be until you try

Age 12 - Wipe off the dirt and get back in the saddle, damn it

Age 13 - Running away just brings a whole new slue of problems, including a lesbian roommate

Age 14 - Boredom and free time fuel poor decision-making

Age 15 - Sometimes you have to runaway to New Mexico and breathe (cont: age 25)

Age 16 - You’re a much better driver when you’re not talking on the cell phone, lighting a bowl, and gossiping with your co-pilot

Age 17 - Confronting a friend at Starbucks for fucking some guy in your bed will feel good, but it’s not classy

Age 18 - Appearance matters and affects how people treat you - particularly if you shave your head

Age 19 - Dinosaurs are not extinct

Age 20 - You learn more through your failures than your successes, embrace fuck ups

Age 21 - Falling in love means finding a partner in crime 

Age 22 - Go to Burning Man at least once in your life

Age 23 - When things don’t work, try something different like getting a full-time job, breaking up with your boyfriend, and moving

Age 24 - Ask for what you want, but don’t be disappointed if you don’t get it

Age 25 - When revisiting the past, don’t forget to plan ahead - it’ll prevent you from driving 18 miles of desert road after getting bit by a random dog at the campground.
